Extreme cold caused the Prairie Spirit School Division to reduce bus service Thursday.
With windchills pushing -43 C in Prince Albert on Thursday morning, the division cancelled buses for the day at schools in Blaine Lake, Leask and Duck Lake.
Buses for Vanscoy, Clavet and V.C.A. schools were shut down for the morning.
All other Prairie Spirit buses were expected to run as normal. However, the division’s website noted that wheelchair lifts on the buses can’t be used where windchills are -35 C or lower.
Parents were encouraged to check the Prairie Spirit website, or call the division’s bus service hotline at (306) 683-2805 for the latest information.
