Saskatoon police have charged a man in connection with the death of a 60-year-old man.
Officials clarified Friday that what was initially deemed the city’s first homicide of 2018, actually took place on Dec. 31, 2017.
John McPherson was found dead around noon on Jan.7 by police officers called to check in on the 100 block of Cope Crescent in Stonebridge.
On Friday, 35-year-old Alistair Stewart was charged with first-degree murder, unlawful confinement and robbery in connection to McPherson’s death.
Police said the two men knew each other.
Stewart made his first court appearance Friday morning.
