Saskatoon police are trying to find a 29-year-old inmate who they say went missing while on work duties in the city Wednesday.
Richard Bear was last seen around 9:30 a.m. while working with a crew from Saskatoon Correctional Centre Urban Camp Program in the 1300 block of Avenue P North.
Police said he is not considered to be a risk to the public.
Bear is five feet 10 inches tall and weighs 210 pounds with short, dark hair. He was last seen wearing a yellow jumpsuit with an orange jacket.
This comes more than two weeks after a similar incident, also along Avenue P.
Police said 31-year-old Trevor Stanley Ballantyne walked away from a correctional centre work crew between 8:20-9:20 a.m. on Jan. 8.
Officers believe he was picked up by a vehicle, but couldn’t provide a clothing or vehicle description.
As of Wednesday, police have not provided an update on the search for Ballantyne.
Anyone with information on the location of Richard Bear is asked to contact the Saskatoon Police Service at 306-975-8300 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
