A Saskatchewan man who triggered an Amber Alert last summer after the abduction of an eight-year-old girl from a Prince Albert playground has pleaded guilty.
Jared John Charles pleaded guilty to kidnapping and sexual assault in the in the disappearance of the girl last July.
The girl was found safe several hours later, while Charles was arrested at a local business after a tip from the public.
Charles entered his plea on Dec. 15. He also pleaded not guilty to aggravated sexual assault.
A Gladue report was also ordered which will consider Charles’ Indigenous background during sentencing.
A date for a sentencing hearing is to be set on Feb. 23.
