A Saskatoon woman has managed to pick up quite the stocking-stuffer ahead of Christmas.
The Western Canada Lottery Corporation (WCLC) announced Wednesday that Judith Karpinka won more than $1.2 million after hitting the provincewide grand jackpot in the Vault Breaker video lottery terminal game.
Karpinka won the prize on Dec. 15 at Saskatoon’s Se7en 33 Bar and Grill on 7th Avenue North.
“It was near closing time, and everyone got very excited for me,” Karpinka said in a news release issued by WCLC.
She added she plans to save her winnings for her retirement fund.
The Vault Breaker game links together about 4,000 machines across Saskatchewan. The grand jackpot has a minimum value of $500,000 and pays out before it hits $1.5 million.
