In just a few days a crowdfunding page for a 19-year-old man injured in last week’s plane crash in Northern Saskatchewan has raised more than $2,500.
Arson Jr. Fern, who lives with cerebral palsy, was on the West Wind Aviation flight Dec. 13 to get to a medical appointment when it crashed in Fond du Lac shortly after takeoff.
All 25 people on the plane survived, but many were injured including the 19-year-old who suffered broken legs, a broken pelvis, internal bleeding and a collapsed lung according to his father.
After the crash Arson Sr. Fern said his son was pinned against a wall and trapped for three hours before he could finally be removed from the freezing wreckage.
With Christmas just a few days away the family is hoping they can travel to Saskatoon, where Arson Jr. is recovering, to spend the holidays together.
The GoFundMe fundraiser has a goal of $15,000.
