Saskatchewan Rush fans are proving to be a passionate group, as the National Lacrosse League team hit a season ticket milestone with 10,000 sold for the upcoming season.
The team is capping season ticket sales at 11,000 to make sure there is still an opportunity for new fans and groups to go to games.
Most season-ticket holders are in Saskatoon, where the team is based, but the spike in sales seems to be coming from outside the bridge city.
According to a media release from the team, there are more fans in Regina, Prince Albert, Moose Jaw, Swift Current, Lloydminster, Humboldt and North Battleford buying season tickets for the first time.
Part of that could be because eight of the nine home games in the 2017-2018 season are scheduled on Saturdays.
The Rush kick off the season on Dec. 16 in Toronto. Their first home game is set for Dec. 23 at SaskTel Centre against the New England Blackwolves.
