A woman has died after being struck by a vehicle while walking on a provincial highway.
Officers from the Shellbrook RCMP detachment were called out to a stretch of Highway 790 on the Ahatahkakoop Cree Nation around 8 p.m. Wednesday.
They determined that a 39-year-old woman was hit by a vehicle travelling eastbound.
The woman was taken to hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
RCMP reported that the driver and two passengers in the vehicle were uninjured. All three reportedly stayed at the scene of the crash until police got there.
The incident remains under investigation
The Ahatahkakoop Cree Nation is located about 140 kilometres north of Saskatoon.
