Argos defensive lineman Shawn Lemon is one of the best in the Canadian Football League, and one of many defensive players the Riders will have to be mindful of Sunday.
During a TSN interview this week, Lemon was quick to point out that Toronto had the most sacks in the league with 50.
It is a formidable group.
Viktor Butler had 10 sacks this season, Lemon had eight, Dylan Wynn had six. There is no doubt the Argo interior will pose more of a challenge than Ottawa’s front seven did last week.
What is being lost in all of this though is that the Riders have the double threat of Kevin Glenn and Brandon Bridge at quarterback.
After Glenn’s wire-to-wire performance against Ottawa, not many are talking about Saskatchewan’s back-up quarterback. The reality, however, is that Bridge is athletic – he can get away from pressure and find deep receivers outside of the pocket.
The Riders one-two punch at quarterback equals any advantage the Argos may think they have up front.
