Evan Fiala’s shot in the dying minutes gave the Blades a big two points with a 5-4 win over the East Division-leading Moose Jaw Warriors Wednesday night.
The Warriors came into SaskTel Centre with nine wins in their last 10 games.
Alec Zawatsky and Caleb Fantillo opened the scoring for the Blades, taking a 2-2 tie into the first intermission.
Braylon Shmyr and Gage Ramsey put Saskatoon up 4-2 in the second, but a late marker for Moose Jaw made it a one-goal game into the third.
The Warriors tied the game midway through the final frame, setting the stage for Fiala’s winner.
