People in Saskatoon now have a fast way to remove snow without doing any heavy lifting.
MowSnowPro is a new app being introduced to the Bridge City. It connects people willing to remove snow with people who will pay for the service.
“Being on demand, people wait until that snow fall hits and then the app is a great convenience for them to use,” CEO Aidan Klingbeil told the Brent Loucks Show Monday.
The app launched more than a year ago in Calgary and is now in Edmonton and Saskatoon.
Klingbeil said people start by putting in their addresses.
“Then there’s a few pre-selected images of what your address might look like. So, you kind of choose what it looks like and then you actually get to set your own bid price,” Klingbeil said.
MowSnowPro suggests around $20 for sidewalks and steps, $30 if adding in a driveway.
The next step is adding a credit card number into the app, then contractors in Saskatoon will be notified about the available job.
“One of them will basically pick it up, you will be notified when that happens,” Klingbeil said. “You will also be notified when they arrive with a before photo of the job and then when they are finished with an after photo of the job.”
Klingbeil added payment is automatic after the job is done, but there is an option to confirm if the job was completed well or not.
He said anyone using the app to pick up work undergoes a vetting process by the company, which includes an interview.
