A man has escaped from custody after being granted leave for a funeral.
According to the Saskatchewan Ministry of Justice, 23-year-old Frederick Frank Frenchman was on an escorted leave for the service on Little Red River First Nation when he escaped around 12:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Frenchman was recently convicted of aggravated assault, forcible confinement and two breaches of probation.
He was sentenced to 1,048 days — nearly three years — in prison at Saskatoon Correctional Centre.
He is considered dangerous and shouldn’t be approached.
Frenchman is described as five feet 11 inches tall, and around 163 pounds.
He has brown eyes and black hair, with a tattoo of a rosary with a cross on his left wrist and the initials “F.F.” on his left hand.
Anyone with information on Frenchman’s whereabouts is asked to contact local police or RCMP.
