The University of Saskatchewan has its work cut out for them in the Canada West Playoff race.
Saskatchewan’s losing streak moved to five games on Saturday after a 49-23 loss to the University of Alberta Golden Bears.
Alberta took a 21-4 lead into halftime and at one point led 42-7.
Mitch Hillis caught a pair of touchdown passes late in the fourth quarter, but by then the damage had been done. Hillis was a bright spot in the Huskies offense with 204 receiving yards on 8 catches.
At 2-5 on the season, Saskatchewan is tied with the Golden Bears for the fourth and final playoff spot.
The Huskies host Manitoba in the season finale on Saturday, October 28.
