Five homes were evacuated after a city grader contacted a natural gas line in Saskatoon Monday morning.
According to the Saskatoon Fire Department, the grader was performing shallow blading in a laneway behind 20th Street, between avenues T and U.
Fire crews received a call around 11:30 a.m., reporting the natural gas line below the surface had been hit, causing a small leak.
Five homes nearby were evacuated as a precaution.
An engine company, hazmat team and the battalion chief responded to the scene.
Fire crews and SaskEnergy are working together to fix the leak.
On Sunday morning, a city grader was involved in a collision with a vehicle. The two people inside the vehicle were sent to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
