Two people taken to hospital and charges are pending for a 29-year-old man from Cumberland House after a Dodge Charger slammed into parked vehicles Saturday night near the University Bridge.
According to police, it started around 6 p.m. when someone reported a silver Charger driving erratically after people staggering got inside it in the 11th Street East and Eastlake Avenue area.
A few minutes later police got another call about a silver Charger, this time from the 400 block of 11th Street East.
The caller said a man and women in the car appeared to be fighting and the women fell out while the car was moving, she got back in soon after and they drove off.
At 6:13 p.m. police, fire and MD Ambulance responded to a multi-vehicle collision on the 1000 block of University Drive, near Clarence Avenue where a Charger had hit a parked vehicle causing a chain reaction damaging seven vehicles and the Charger.
The man driving and a woman passenger were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Another man in the car ran before police got there.
Alcohol and speed are believed to be factors.
