The locker room was full of optimism for the future of the organization on Sunday.
Max Gerlach had a four-point night to lead the Medicine Hat Tigers past the Saskatoon Blades 6-2 Friday night.
The Blades fell into a hole early giving up a pair of goals in the first period, and entering the third down 6-0.
Penalties were also costly as the Blades gave up two powerplay goals on four Medicine Hat opportunities.
Chase Wouters and Gage Ramsey would score in the third to avoid the shutout.
Saskatoon is at home to Calgary Saturday night. The game will mark star centre Cam Hebig’s first WHL game since the 2015-16 season.
