Police use taser after foot chase with suspect

Saskatoon police used a taser on a 48-year-man who allegedly ran from officers late Tuesday night.

Police were called over a disturbance at the Northwoods Inn and Suites on Idylwyld Drive North around 11:15 p.m.

The man reportedly ran off, with officers on the ground giving chase while the police plane followed from the air.

Police said the man resisted arrest when he was found, leading one of the officers to use a taser.

Paramedics found the man wasn’t injured during the incident. He now faces charges of resisting arrest, possessing methamphetamine and breaching a court order.

Police said the man also had four outstanding warrants at the time of his arrest.
