Saskatoon police responded to a report of a man with a gun in the Buena Vista neighbourhood Friday morning.
Officers were seen at the residence on the 400 block of Craig Street around 10:30 a.m.
Police said when they arrived, witnesses told them a man in the basement of the home was upset and had a gun.
Police ordered the 38-year-old man to come out of the home. He left unarmed and was taken into custody without incident.
The man was later taken to Royal University Hospital for treatment.
Inside the home, officers found an imitation handgun, that was actually a pellet gun, along with a knife.
Police said numerous units responded to the call, including the service’s rescue vehicle, as a precaution for public safety.
No charges were laid and no one was injured in the incident.
