Saskatoon’s Optimist Hill campaign is looking to get started on a bigger ski hill, but they need the public’s help.
Voting opens Friday for the Kraft-Heinz Project Play competition, with Optimist Hill vying with three other finalists across Canada for a $250,000 grand prize.
The online vote starts at 10 a.m. Friday and closes at 10 p.m. Saturday.
If they win, the Optimist Hill campaign would reach their $1.9 million goal to install a ski lift and build the hill up at Diefenbaker Park by 30 feet.
They’re up against a pool in Bible Hill, N.S., a football stadium in Brandon, Man. and a recreational park in Goderich, Ont.
Voting for Project Play is unlimited, meaning anyone can cast as many ballots as they like on the website.
The Optimist Hill campaign is asking Saskatoon residents to “post, smoke signal, morse code, phone, text and video message” to spread the word about the vote. They’re also encouraging the use of social media hashtags, including “#placetoplay” and “#BUILDTHEHILL.”
The winner of the competition will be revealed on TSN Sept. 16.
