Labour Day is the last day of freedom for a lot of students heading back to the classroom in Saskatoon, but because it’s a holiday not everything is open.
Fitnesses classes are cancelled Harry Bailey Aquatice Centre and Lawson Civic Centre.
Classes and childcare aren’t running at Lakewood Civic Centre, Saskatoon Field House, or Shaw Centre.
The Terry Fox Track at SaskTel Sports Centre is closed Monday.
City Hall, The Municipal Impound Lot and all public library branches are closed to observe the holiday.
What’s Open
There are still options for a family day out.
PotashCorp Playland at Kinsmen Park is open 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saskatoon Forestry Farm Park and Zoo is open (park from 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. and zoo from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.) and the Saskatoon Civic Conservatory has its doors open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
If you plan to take Saskatoon City Transit it’s running on a holiday schedule and the Customer Service Centre is closed, but you can still call in.
City-run parking spaces are free.
A reminder while you’re driving–make sure to slow down in school zones.
Even though kids aren’t back in the classroom just yet reduced speed limits are already in effect.
