There was a heavy police presence in Saskatoon’s Exhibition neighbourhood Thursday afternoon as officers investigated a possible shooting in the area.
Police said in a release they responded to a report of an injured male youth shortly after 3 p.m. on St. Charles Avenue near Hilliard Street.
When they arrived, they discovered a young man suffering from what they believed to be a gunshot wound. As of 5 p.m., officers were still working to confirm the type of injury.
The victim was transported to RUH in unknown condition.
Witnesses at the scene had been told by police they were searching for a suspect, but a police spokesperson said no-one was in custody.
650 CKOM reporter Chris Carr added the Saskatoon police gang unit was also on-site.
