Saskatoon police have released a composite sketch of a suspect involved in a violent sexual assault last week.
Police were called around 5:30 a.m. Friday to a home on the 3200 block of McGill Street, in the city’s College Park neighbourhood.
A man armed with a hammer reportedly came into the house and both physically and sexually assaulted one of two women living there.
Police said the victim was able to get the hammer off the suspect and hit him in the forehead with it before he ran away.
The woman who was attacked was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
In a media release, police said the suspect was described as an Indigenous man between 18 and 20 years old with dark, shaggy hair.
He is believed to have been wearing a black t-shirt, skinny jeans and either black or red shoes.
Police noted the suspect would also likely be sporting a noticeable injury to his forehead.
