What’s old is new again as the Saskatoon Blades look for a fresh start to the 2017-18 season.
The team is rebranding back to its original colours of royal blue and yellow, along with the revival of its old logo.
“People have been asking for this and associate these jerseys with better days,” general manager Colin Priestner said.
“Plus they’re just really cool jerseys, they’re better jerseys and the colours really pop.”

Known now by many as the “Pac-Man” jersey due to the shade of yellow and shape of the blade in the middle, the look dates back to the team’s beginnings in the Western Hockey League.
It was relegated to a secondary logo in 1993, while the colour yellow was removed in the last rebrand in 2004.
“There’s a lot of history in that logo and gives us that fresh air that we needed,” head coach Dean Brockman said.

The changes are already reflected on the team’s website and social media properties, while work is taking place at SaskTel Centre to match.
The Blades will also be revealing a new alternate jersey at a later date. Training camp begins on Saturday.
