Saskatchewan’s current justice minister may be readying a run for the premier’s seat.
Saskatoon-Northwest MLA Gord Wyant posted a brief video on his social media accounts Thursday afternoon teasing a Friday morning announcement.
The video shows a man getting onto a Harley Davidson motorcycle, while the guitar intro for AC/DC’s “Shoot to Thrill” plays in the background. As the motorcycle drives away, the video cuts to a message: “Ready to roll.”
The video concludes by suggesting an announcement will be made at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Saskatoon.
The announcement comes after speculation Wyant would join the race to replace retiring premier Brad Wall.

If he does announce his candidacy, Wyant would join Tina Beaudry-Mellor and Jeremy Harrison as active candidates in the bid to lead the Saskatchewan Party.
Saskatoon-Willowgrove MLA Ken Chevaldayoff is also expected to announce his candidacy Monday.
Candidates have until Nov. 24 to declare for the leadership convention, with voting beginning about a month before the Jan. 27 event in Saskatoon.
The vote will be conducted by preferential ballot among Sask. Party members who sign up for memberships before the end of December.
