A man is facing charges after stealing a taxi from Saskatoon’s John G. Diefenbaker International Airport on Monday morning.
Police said the cab was stolen from outside the airport after being left unattended with the keys inside at around 10:45 a.m.
Officers tracked the taxi using the on-board GPS, eventually locating it at a parking lot near the intersection of 33rd Street and Confederation Drive.
Patrol officers stopped the cab on 33rd Street, and arrested a 30-year-old man at the scene.
He faces one charge of theft of a motor vehicle.
—Editor’s note: A previous version of this story indicated two men were charged with the theft. Saskatoon Police have since corrected that account, saying only one man was in the vehicle. This story has been edited to reflect the updated information.
