Pop sensation Ed Sheeran rocked SaskTel Centre Sunday night to a sold out crowd of 13,000 people.
“Ed is my favourite singer, so when we saw he was coming to Saskatoon we thought we’d take a trip,” said Allie, who came with her mom Linda from Philadelphia to see the singer for her 16th birthday.
“I was going to bring a sign to get noticed for my birthday to get on stage, but it would probably be weird to travel with a sign.”
The British singer told the crowd Argentina was the loudest show he’s ever played, but Saskatoon fans were pretty close.
Sheeran sang all the favourites such as Castle on the Hill and Photograph.
“It was so awesome, one of the nicest singers I’ve ever met,” said 21-year-old Ashley Lucyshyn, who got to meet the British pop sensation as the winner of the C95 Fed by Ed contest.
“Ed was just wearing casual clothes and we got to take a selfie.”
Sheeran last played Saskatoon in June 2015.
