Kiwanis Park was turned into a dog sanctuary as barks rang out during the 12th Annual Pets in the Park fundraiser.
The event raises money for New Hope Dog Rescue, the Saskatoon SPCA, and SCAT Street Cat Rescue.
“I like getting my dogs used to other dogs,” said Crystal Cherneske, who has eight dogs. “This is definitely a big-time distraction and really helps.”
Tessa Hayward brought her pit bull Larry to the event for the first time.
“We heard about it on the radio and have had a lot of fun,” she said. “Larry loves to swim, eat, and sleep a lot.”
The event featured groomers and demonstrations of things like flyball, and rally obedience.
Last year the event raised around $70,000, but organizers hoped to bring in closer to $75,000.
