Motorcycle rider killed in crash on Gordie Howe Bridge

A wooden cross adorned with flowers now stands at the scene of Sunday night’s deadly crash on the Gordie Howe Bridge.
The cross bears the name Chance Volk, and places his age at 21.
Police confirmed a motorcycle rider of the same age died Monday.
According to police, a motorcycle apparently ran into the rear end of a car in the westbound lanes of the Gordie Howe Bridge, near the Valley Road exit., around 11 p.m. July 9.
The rider was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries after a crash.
The 17-year-old driver of the car reportedly suffered minor injuries.
Police were at the scene for several hours Sunday night and into early Monday morning. Traffic restrictions were lifted around 5 a.m.
