Less than a week after a Sask Party MLA resigned as representative of the Saskatoon-Fairview riding, the list of people who hope to replace her continues to grow.
At least three candidates have announced their intention to seek the nomination for their parties to replace outgoing MLA Jennifer Campeau.
Vicki Mowat is hoping to seek the nomination for the Saskatchewan New Democrats, while Cameron Scott is hoping to be on the ballot under the Saskatchewan Party banner.
Mowat represented the NDP in the 2016 general election, losing to Campeau by less than 200 votes.
David Prokopchuk, who ran in the March byelection in Saskatoon-Meewasin, wants to run for the Progressive Conservative Party of Saskatchewan.
The Saskatchewan Liberal Party and Green Party haven’t said whether they intend to field a candidate.
Premier Brad Wall said the byelection will be called sometime over the next six months.
In a March byelection, NDP leadership candidate Ryan Meili beat out Sask Party candidate Brent Penner with 54 per cent of the vote in the Saskatoon-Meewasin riding. Penner got 39 per cent.
