Wray Morrison: Young's worth

While Vince Young’s hamstring injury – and, for that matter, his presence at Rider camp – is a story, it’s important for fans to keep the quarterback situation in perspective.

Chris Jones has repeatedly said it’s Kevin Glenn and then everyone else at two, three and four on the depth chart. Young is in the mix along with Bryan Bennett, Brandon Bridge and Marquise Williams.

When Young signed with the Riders in March, it was huge news.

Why would a former NCAA champion and NFL rookie of the year come to Saskatchewan? We got our answer: he loves the game.

For those of us who have been at camp, we can see he is not a lock to be the number two quarterback. He’s looked like a capable back up at times, and then at other times we’ve wondered if he should even hold a roster spot.
 
Fullback Spencer Moore described it best when he said, “He’s just one of the guys.” Rider Nation needs to take that same approach.
