Emergency crews responded to a major collision on Circle Drive East near Attridge Drive during rush hour Wednesday.
An apparent head-on crash involving a car and a semi tied up traffic for nearly 8-hours.
Firefighters were seen working to extract the driver of a small blue car. The 34-year-old man was taken to hospital in critical condition.
Police said Thursday he passed away from his injuries. His name is not being released until family can be notified.
Traffic restrictions were lifted just after 1 a.m..A collision analyst has completed their investigation, however a cause has not been released.
