Grade six student Erin Lalach from St. Bernard School will soon get to follow her drawing on a Saskatoon transit bus.
“I’m super excited, I’ll be making my mom chase the bus,” she joked. “I can’t wait for the museum either because it will be really fun.”
But she isn’t the only one as over 70 students from Saskatoon’s Catholic and Public School Divisions got the chance to design their own bus wrap for the new PotashCorp children’s museum.
“I definitely want to see my wrap at least once,” said another grade six student from St. Bernard Rachel Herperger. “The new museum will be really hands-on and not boring like other museums.”
Grade seven and eight students from North Park Wilson School also took part in the bus wrap desing project. The wrapped buses will hit Saskatoon streets in the spring.
“Students have been excited all week,” said St. Bernard’s grade six teacher Nicole Parent. “They’re very creative kids and we hope to actually ride the bus.”
The Children’s Discovery Museum is in Market Mall right now and gets 15,000 visitors a year.
The new CDM will open in the Mendel Building sometime in 2018 and they’re expecting 60,000 visitors a year.
