Five people are facing charges after police raided several units in an apartment building in Caswell Hill.
Officers from the Saskatoon Police Service’s guns and gang unit were joined by members of the SPS tactical unit and the Saskatoon RCMP detachment’s emergency response team around 12:45 a.m. Friday at a building on the 100 block of 25th Street West.
Traffic was blocked for about an hour as officers searched the apartments.
In a media release issued just before noon Friday, police reported finding a stolen vehicle, two loaded guns, bear spray, multiple edged weapons and an undisclosed amount of crystal meth.
The three men and two women charged range in age between 17 and 32.
One of the accused, a 27-year-old man, faces 22 charges. Those include multiple counts for weapons offences, along with charges of possessing stolen property, drug possession and breaching a court order.
One woman was charged with possession of stolen property and released from custody.
The other four people charged following the raids are expected to make their first court appearances Friday evening.
