With Thursday marking National Pizza Day, fried chicken merchants KFC have decided they want a slice of the pie.
The company has unleashed a new creation, giving its take on the planet’s favourite snack, dubbed The Chizza.
Carb-counters will be pleased to know the Chizza doesn’t have any dough – instead, KFC has replaced the crust with a slab of fried chicken.
From there, add mozzarella, pineapple, a couple slices of chicken ham and top the whole thing off with a generous squirt of cheese sauce.
So far, nutritional information isn’t available for the new product.
Estimates are it clocks in somewhere between the 460 calories contained in a traditional chicken parm dish and the 962 calories contained in the company’s DoubleDown Dog, released last year.
For now, Canadians looking to explore the newest frontier in fast food will have to either wait, or buy a plane ticket – the Chizza is currently only available in Asia.
