Previously, WHL players were declared ineligible to play NCAA hockey in the U.S.
The presents might be wrapped under the tree with care, but there’s less than a couple weeks until people will be tearing into them and leaving quite the mess.
And not much of it can be recycled, including certain types of wrapping paper and gift wrap.
The City of Regina says regular wrapping paper can be recycled, but shiny metallic gift wrap will not be accepted. It says many types of wrapping paper contain the laminates or shiny adhesives that bind glitter and such to the paper that makes these products unacceptable for recycling.
In a news release, Lisa Legault, Director of Solid Waste, said “recycling programs differ from one city to another and we are committed to provide an effective recycling program at the City of Regina. The City’s recycling program continues to progress as we engage with residents around what type of recycling program they want in our community.”
The City confirms it can’t recycle strings of lights and bulbs. Decorations like garlands, ribbons and bows and packing material like tape, plastic wrap, Styrofoam and bubble wrap also shouldn’t be put in the city’s blue recycling carts.
Cardboard boxes can be recycled, as normal.
Recycling collection will follow the regular Monday through Friday schedule Dec. 26-30.
