Previously, WHL players were declared ineligible to play NCAA hockey in the U.S.
The website issues faced by the government beginning Dec. 7 continued to plague the land titles branch until Dec. 14.
The Information Services Corporation (ISC) was still unavailable to customers Tuesday.
ISC deal not only with land titles, but the business registry, surveys and the like.
On Dec. 12th, the company wrote:
“The Company and statutory officials with the Ministry of Justice are diligently continuing their efforts to ensure the orderly resumption of registry services as soon as possible. We recognize and appreciate the inconvenience that this disruption has caused, and understand the needs of our customers to be able to transact their business. We want to assure you that recommencement of services is our top priority.”
But the issue could start impacting realtors in Saskatchewan.
“Commissions for real estate agents aren’t payable until the actual property is transferred at ISC so it could delay the commission payment,” explained Gord Archibald, with Regina Realtor’s Association.
“As well it may delay the ownership of the property being transferred from the owners to the buyer and some contracts include a provision where the buyer may have to pay additional interest.”
So far Archibald has heard of no major concerns from members but if ISC continues to experience problems that could change.
