The hypocrisy of Bud Selig going into the Hall of Fame is astounding.
The man who was the keeper of baseball during the steroid era, when all accounts behind the scenes paint a picture of a commissioner who not endorsed but turned a blind eye to what was going on in his game…for what? Ratings, butts in the seats. Baseball was hurting after the ‘94 work stoppage and when he was commissioner in the late 90s, you had Clemens, Bonds, Sosa, McGwire with consistent runs at baseball records.
They were juicing and Selig knew it.
The players have been thrown into the actual court and the court of public opinion and many don’t believe those guys should go in.
Yet, here we are watching Bud Selig throw on a hall of fame jersey, as Clemens, Bonds and the like will have the door slammed in their face.
They were all in on it – but the man at the top isn’t penalized. Gross.
Oh and let’s not forget Selig is in, but the league’s leading hitter, Pete Rose, is still banished for having a gambling problem.
