The Regina Police Service has more guns and ammo in its evidence locker after Sunday morning.
Officers were called out to the Lakeridge neighbourhood around 5 a.m. They were told a man had been at a home on the 4800 block of Singer Crescent, left, and then come back with a long-barreled gun.
Police said the man left the scene, but officers stopped a truck nearby on Pasqua Street North and arrested the driver.
Inside the vehicle, police said they found the gun described by witnesses at the house along with loaded magazines of ammunition. Police then searched the man’s home in the Transcona neighbourhood, west of Lewvan Drive and 4th Avenue – there they said they found more guns and ammunition in the home, as well as a small amount of marijuana.
Stephen G. Jaworski, 32, is being charged with ten counts: use of a firearm in an indictable offense (assault), five counts of a careless use of a firearm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, assault with a weapon, driving while impaired, and refusal to provide a breath sample.
Police said a woman was at the home in the Transcona neighbourhood and she was also charged in relation to the guns and drugs.
Candace Elaine Jaworski, 31, is charged with two counts of careless use of a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm, and possession of marijuana.
Both the man and woman made their first appearance in court on these charges on Monday morning.
