A Regina Police Service cruiser heading to an emergency ended up being involved in an emergency itself when it was hit on Sunday afternoon.
The incident happened around 2:15 p.m. Regina police said an officer had the cruiser’s emergency lights and siren on and was heading to a call for an automated external defibrillator for a man in distress. Police said the officer slowed the cruiser before heading into the intersection at 9th Avenue North and McIntosh Street, but was still hit in the intersection by a vehicle heading north on McIntosh. The other vehicle had a green light.
Police said no one was hurt in the crash, but both vehicles were damaged enough to be put out of commission.
Traffic was slowed down in the area for about two and a half hours.
