Retailers in Regina are once again taking advantage of Black Friday, shouldering off the major shopping day in the aftermath of Thanksgiving in the United States.
Stores that focus on TVs, computers and other screen-related devices are among the most popular.
“I would say probably within the first hour we had done like an entire days worth of sales on a busy Friday,” said Joel Buisson with Visions Electronics.
The store has been consistently busy throughout the day he explained, adding how there was a lineup when the store first opened at 6 a.m.
However, the craziness was kept to a minimum.
“This year was pretty good actually… but we’ve had people, once the doors open, get like almost jammed in because they’re not even all the way open by the time they’re trying to run in here,” Buisson recalled.
The Cornwall Centre was busy as well on Friday, with several stores advertising deals, and dozens of shoppers taking advantage.
Several retailers around Regina have adjusted their hours in anticipation of larger crowds.
