Jamie Nye: Duron Carter rumours are another example of the new 'Rider way'

The Saskatchewan Roughriders are looking into Duron Carter as a fill in in the receiving corps of the team.

That shouldn’t be much of a surprise to those who follow the Roughriders closely.

Duron Carter is an exceptional athlete. He has speed, he has size, he has ability.

All the things Chris Jones is looking for in a receiver to lead the Roughriders to success.

Now, Duron Carter also comes with incredible baggage. The son of the NFL Hall of Famer was let go in Montreal and when you see a player of Carter’s ability released you have to start to question the player off the field.

But again, these are Chris Jones Roughriders and while the off-field issues may be of concern, it’s what Carter does on the field that matters most to the new boss of the Riders.

And we’ll have to wait and see if this new philosophy pays off in the end.
