Henry Burris is definitely the x-factor in this year’s Grey Cup.
We know how Bo Levi Mitchell is going to play – he’s been a Grey Cup MVP recently.
Burris is the leader of the pack, the 9.5-point underdog, and he’s already leading by example with his black Stetson he wore when the team arrived in Toronto.
A symbol he believes nobody believes in his team.
Yes, Burris has played the no respect card many times and the biggest stage was the 2008 Grey Cup when they went into Montreal, against the host Alouettes, and were shut out at the player awards. Only four players on their West Division champs team got all-star nods, despite having the best record in the CFL.
They felt snubbed and Burris came out on Sunday and combined for 400-yards through the air and on the ground.
Fast forward eight years and this week will be all about the Stampeders, their record, their wins, their awards.
But I wouldn’t run to be against the man in the black Stetson – if he rallies the troops like he did in 2008.
Game on.
