More bus route cancellations were announced Friday morning as a contract dispute continues between the Amalgamated Transit Union and the City of Saskatoon.
This has resulted in the following for Nov. 18:
- Route 349 servicing Bethlehem and Tommy Douglas leaving Confederation Terminal at 8:47 will be cancelled. Students will have to catch Route 23.
- Route 23 Blairmore leaving East Hampton Blvd. & McClocklin Road at 7:50 a.m. and Confederation Mall at 8:18 a.m., will be cancelled today.
- Route 20 South Industrial leaving Downtown Terminal at 6:45 has been cancelled.
In addition to the cancelled routes, the city is again warning riders to expect crowded buses on other routes.
Director of transit, Jim McDonald said Thursday the city is doing the best it can to minimize service disruptions while the union continues with its job action.
The union has been directing members to refuse overtime since Saturday, which McDonald said is having a ripple effect on extra service they provide during peak times as well as highs schools.
McDonald said the city is considering different options for next week if the job action continues.
The city will issue alerts about service disruptions as the information is made available.
