The CFL should never be critiqued for trying something when it comes to building the CFL brand and their future starts.
Welcome to CFL Week – coming in March to Regina.
The CFL Combine, the Canadian Football Hall of Fame, rules committee, just used to come and go. Little fanfare.
Now they’ve taken those three events and jammed them into a week combined with a fan expo with CFL stars and personalities to draw the fans in even closer to the goings on in the off-season.
Finally, the CFL is making mountains out of mole hills and sometimes you have to brag about yourself – or should I say sell yourself – before people really start paying attention.
This is one of those opportunities and they’re starting in the most engaged market in the league.
You could almost hear them in the board meeting questioning if it’ll work and they finally said, “Let’s try it and do it Saskatchewan.”
Because if it doesn’t work here, it won’t work anywhere else but they might as well try.
And good on them for doing so.
