#CFLWeek was trending on Twitter in the hours following the league’s announcement that Regina would be the event’s first host. Commissioner Jeffrey Orridge was on hand for the so-called “major” announcement.
From March 21-26 the CFL’s top brass will be in the city for numerous events, including the combine for testing potential draft choices and a gala banquet to announce the upcoming class for the Canadian Football Hall of Fame. There will also be college scrimmages and public appearances for players and CFL bigwigs.
Behind closed doors, the rules committee will be meeting.
That’s the spot to be. Get into those meetings and tell the CFL rules committee to roll it back, to stop allowing coaches’ challenges for almost every call they don’t agree with.
CFL Week will help the league promote its image during the offseason. That’s a good idea and they’re having it in the right place. But making the league’s rules good again, that’s a “major” announcement.
