Job action from Saskatoon Transit workers is putting a hurt on transit routes Sunday.
The city says limited resources will change the frequency of buses on several major bus routes.
Route two to Meadowgreen scheduled to leave the downtown terminal at 7:44 p.m. and 8:44 p.m. will be canceled.
The route will only be hourly from downtown starting at 7:15 p.m.
The Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU) has instructed their members to refuse all overtime until the city lets a third party decide on the issues between the two sides.
The following routes ran at reduced service on Saturday:
Route 17 – between 1030 and 1900. Route 5 – between 1330 and 1900. Route 23 – between 1230 and 1545. Route 86 – between 1300 and 1800. Route 12 – between 1400 and 1730.
The city will provide an update on any future transit disruptions.
Transit Users call disruptions “pain in the butt”
Judy Cebry takes the bus seven days a week and feels it’s very disruptive.
“It’s time for Mayor Charlie Clark to get involved and fix this thing,” she said.
Another bus rider Chris Madden thinks the union should get what they want because they have to deal with the public’s crap.
“Some people go on the bus and they aren’t very nice or swear at the drivers,” he said.
