The Calgary Stampeders are the overwhelming favourite, as they should be, to win the Grey Cup.
But this weekend Winnipeg and B.C. will fight to become the likeliest candidate to out-seat the favourite.
Winnipeg and B.C. have a good running game, decent receiving corps and two quarterbacks who have been a surprise.
It’s defensively these two teams differ. The Lions lock it down, they are number two in terms of yards allowed. The Bombers are dead last, giving up over 400-yards a game.
Now, here’s the surprise, they gave nearly the exact same amount of points.
Rider fans know that Richie Hall defense in Winnipeg quite well. It is bend, don’t break and take the ball away.
That has been Hall’s recipe for success. It’s done well for him so far.
If Matt Nichols is able to protect the ball, they will be able to outscore the Lions.
Bombers advance in a bit of an upset in the West Semi-Final.
