The countdown to the Canadian Western Agribition is on.
The annual event in Regina is getting bigger and better this year with a number of new additions.
The newly named Country Thunder, formerly Craven Country Jamboree, will be providing entertainment and musical acts.
As well, the public can participate in the running of the bulls, similar to what is offered in shows in Strathmore, modeled on the traditional run in Pamplona, Italy.
Gone are the days that Agribition is simply livestock.
While the animals, rodeo and industry opportunities remain, CEO Chris Lane maintains they want to see further expansion to bring people in.
“It is a perfect place to come Christmas shopping. We have the SaskTel everyday marketplace that is chock full of goods for people to buy,” Lane explained.
“We are very proud of how we bring people together, producers and consumers and city folks and country folks together in one place, there really is anything you want from food to shopping and of course the livestock side of it.”
Agribition begins Nov. 21 and runs until Nov. 26.
