Transit will be free for voters on Election Day.
Voters will be able to take city buses for free in order to get to the polls.
The service will be available to conventional and Paratransit customers, including return trips – customers just have to tell their driver they’re going to vote.
Voters in the west part of Ward 6 who are required to vote at the Eastview Community Centre are reminded of a special free shuttle. The buses will be marked “Charter Poll 17” and will run from Albert Community School starting at 9 a.m. and the last bus will depart at 7:30 p.m.
The buses will pick-up every 15 minutes at each stop and the last bus will depart the polling station at 8:15 p.m.
The five stops for voters are this special route are:
- 4th Ave at Rae Street westbound
- Robinson Street at 5th Ave southbound
- Albert Community School southbound
- Dewdney Ave at Robinson Street eastbound (bus stop #33)
- Dewdney Ave at Rae Street eastbound (bus stop #34)
Polls are open from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m.
