Rams prepare for Mitchell Cup showdown against Laval

The Rams play the Laval Rouge et Or in the Mitchell Bowl Saturday for a spot in the 2024 Vanier Cup.
A Regina man was arrested after failing to attend court earlier this month and is now facing nine new charges.
The 31-year-old man was the subject of an outstanding warrant.
The man was released under several conditions, including no possession of weapons or ammunition, as well as a prohibited firearms order. The man faces additional charges in connection to the possession of a shotgun and ammo.
On Oct. 23, 2016, police received information the man was in possession of a firearm, contrary to court-ordered conditions.
Officers were successful in finding the man outside a business on the 5000 block of 4th Avenue.
The man got into the passenger seat of a van, exited and started walking. Police arrested him without further incident.
The man was allegedly wearing two sets of body armour.
Police said the van took off when police tried to stop it. It was later found abandoned in an alley on the 600 block of King Street.
Police searched the vehicle and found a sawed-off shotgun on the floor of the passenger side and ammo.
Thirty-one-year-old Harold Joseph Hanson appeared in court on Monday.
In addition to the warrant, Hanson is facing nine new charges including possession of a weapon and careless use/storage of a firearm.
An investigation is underway to identify and locate the driver of the van.
